1. it starts off by the children's parents dying and they didn't have any close family so they were forced to live with this weird uncle that they don't like and tried to steal all their money by marrying the daughter so they run away.
2. the theme is good versus evil because the kids are just trying to live and the evil uncle is trying to control their life.

YGB QUESTIONS

I think the authors purpose was to say that people aren't always who they say they are because his childhood teacher seemed nice but she was friends with the devil. At first faith does fit her until GOODMAN brown leaves and she turns evil. I think the pink ribbons signified Faith's good in her and once the ribbons were gone she turned evil. I think GOODMAN brown was dreaming because when he saw Goody from his childhood she didn't even look at him and all of his fears became reality in his dream. I think the old man is really the devil because he uses Faith in a ceremony that turns her to evil. The staff represents GOODMAN brown to go onward in the forest with the devil and the witch because he wants to turn brown evil also. If brown stayed with his wife I think he would have still had his wife because he wouldn't have let anything happen to her and protected her from evil .

YOUNG GOODMAN BROWN

my first impression on young GOODMAN brown is that he should've went back to the village to see what was going on. if he sensed something was wrong then he should've gone back but he wanted to stay true to Faith and stayed away for one night. I think GOODMAN brown is weird because he doesn't talk to his wife the wrest of his life so he'll never know if she turned evil.

conscience of a hacker

after reading this I could tell the writer was trying to prove a point. he was trying to let everyone know what interests him and getting frustrated because people don't like hackers.

similarities are that they use the same descriptive language and the difference is they talk about how earth started and we don't talk about that in present day

ANCIENT STORIES

It's different because it talks about taking animals and the way earth started. It's very important for the text to be enchanted in the retelling so people get the main idea of the story. Another story like earth on turtles back is Morning glory in Evening Shadow because it talks about a guy coming to America like the way the lady came to the water with all of the talking animals.

The earth on turtles back is a story about how life started on earth. I like how the muskrat volunteered to save a human that he didn't even know and almost died trying :)

Thoughts on "Richard Cory"

After reading the first stanza of Richard Cory, it seemed like everybody liked him and I was just confused why he shot himself. I wanna know more about the reason he shit himself.
